AgricTrail was founded by Ganiu Ademola Okeowo, an agribusiness management executive, agri-tech innovator and food systems strategist with over 25 years of practical experience across public-sector agricultural extension, integrated farm management, cooperative development, aquaculture, livestock, crop production, agribusiness operations and food systems strategy.
Public Sector Foundations
Before founding AgricTrail, Ganiu served in the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture & Food Systems, where he rose from Extension Officer to Estate Project Manager and Principal Agric Superintendent. He worked directly with farmers and agricultural communities, supported integrated livestock extension projects, managed farm projects & estate operations, and contributed to cooperative and rural agricultural development.
Building Aquaculture & Agribusiness Enterprises
Ganiu later led Tritech Business Solutions Limited, a commercial aquaculture enterprise focused on catfish hatchery, grow-out, processing, investor-backed production, logistics and cooperative-based farm enterprise development. He also served as the Founding Chairman of Igboku Agricultural Community Development Association, Ilara, Epe, Lagos.
Leading Integrated Farm Operations
A major highlight of Ganiu’s leadership was his role as Agribusiness Manager at Songhai Farms, Iwo, where he managed a 21-hectare integrated farm with industrial parks and multi-livestock systems. Within 9 months, monthly revenue grew by 231%, while operational efficiency improved across 17 integrated value chains, including poultry, aquaculture, piggery and crop production.
Building Africa’s Digital Agriculture Infrastructure
Today, Ganiu leads AgricTrail as a digital agricultural ecosystem infrastructure company combining technology, localized Trade Centres, farmer data, advisory support, market access, traceability, finance readiness and ecosystem coordination. Through AgricTrail Trade Ltd, the Nigeria operating company, AgricTrail is developing its local implementation model, pilot market activation, farmer and cooperative onboarding, agribusiness partnerships and Trade Centre strategy.
